Biyoçeşitliliğin Korunması Politikası

1. PURPOSE

The purpose of this guide is to contribute to the protection of wildlife on and around the property of Turunç Premium Hotel, to support biodiversity, and to maintain the balance of the ecosystem in a sustainable manner.

2. SCOPE

The guide covers all activities carried out within the hotel premises and its immediate surroundings. All employees, as well as business partners providing services on behalf of the hotel, are included in these practices.

3. PRACTICES AND ACTIVITIES

3.1. Protection of Local Plant Species

  • In and around the hotel garden, native plant species suited to the Marmaris-Turunç region are preferred.
  • The plants are introduced to guests through informational signage featuring QR codes.
  • The plant inventory is updated and recorded at least once a year.

3.2. Nature-Friendly Garden Practices

  • No chemical fertilizers or pesticides are used; only natural protection methods are applied.
  • Irrigation systems achieve water savings through the drip method and need-based timing.

3.3. Lighting Policy

  • Directed, low-voltage systems are used for night-time lighting.
  • The lighting is designed so as not to disrupt the natural cycle of nocturnal insects and bird species.

3.4. Wildlife Protection Activities

  • Birds, lizards, butterflies, and other species observed around the hotel are monitored and recorded.
  • Staff are informed about exercising care when in contact with wildlife.

3.5. Intervention in Nature and Compensation Process

  • An environmental impact assessment is carried out prior to any construction or maintenance work.
  • If adverse effects are identified, compensatory measures such as tree planting, habitat restoration, and similar activities are initiated.

3.6. Training and Awareness Activities

  • Staff training is conducted at least once a year; topics include local biodiversity, native species, and nature-friendly practices.
  • Brief informational posters and cards are prepared for guests.

3.7. Cooperation with NGOs and Local Communities

  • Opportunities for cooperation with local environmental organizations are explored.
  • Voluntary participation in protection and improvement projects is encouraged.

4. MONITORING AND EVALUATION
